Veronica Hearst: A Symbol of Good


Veronica Hearst is the name you tend to hear whenever the topic of social work and charity comes up. This one woman has managed to make her image synonymous with humanitarian work everywhere especially related to the arts and other noble social causes. Prior to her marriage to the late Mr. Randolph Hearst, she was involved in charity work. And after her marriage she gained a reputation of a graceful and warm-hearted socialite.

Veronica Hearst is passionate towards the field of art and has played an active role in promoting the achievements and milestones accomplished by young and talented artists. She played an important part in founding the Save America’s Treasures programs where she works to restore and preserve the historical sites of significance in the United States. She restored the infamous Walker Evans Archive at the Metropolitan Museum of art which was a collection considered as the most endangered historical site in the United States.

Veronica has also been the head of the National Leadership Council for Americans for the Arts (AFTA) for more than 14 years which is an organization that provides opportunities for all Americans to participate in the arts and promote their individual talent. Veronica has also been a member of the Committee of Photography for a period of 15 years and a supporter of the new Metropolitan Museum of Art since its commencement.
Her numerous contributions to the fields of art and more are what make Veronica Hearst an invaluable member of the American society.
