Veronica Hearst

Veronica Hearst is well known for her compassion and involvement in social causes. She has gone beyond the realms to eradicate the evils of hunger from the society by forming the American Hunger Alliance. She dreams of a better American society and is trying her best to evolve the nation with her untiring efforts and many charitable causes. She is a dynamic personality who is at ease with seven different languages but yet a compassionate human being who loves fashion and is an art devotee.

Veronica Hearst has been the chairperson of the Americans for the Arts (AFTA) organization since 1998 to date. It is under her supervision that the organization has spread its wings and enabled a lot of Americans to gain better knowledge and understanding of arts as a subject and build a future for them in the field. She has also chaired the National Awards program of AFTA, which serves to acknowledge various achievements of people in the field of arts, philanthropy, education, advocacy and corporate giving.

Other than her involvement with AFTA she has worked immensely for the preservation of many historical art museums and sites in the US. Her love for art has driven her to lend her undying support to the Metropolitan Museum of Arts. Her involvement with the museums photography committee goes back to 15 years. Also she has played a major role in the restoration of the Walker Evans Archive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as it was one of the most vulnerable historical sites in the country. Veronica Hearst is also a special advisor to the White House Millennium Council for the preservation of the American culture of 20th century.
